Easter treat for families

31 March 2010
AN OPEN DAY at Newham City Farm will be the ideal treat for families.

Four hours of fun are promised (weather permitting) on Sunday at the farm in Stansfeld Road, West Beckton.

The event is run by Newham farm bosses Community Links, who also run East Ham Nature Reserve.

Bird box making, roving entertainers, horse and cart rides, a puppet show, tombola, raffle, face-painting and Easter Egg hunt are among the attractions.

And those who want to see traditional farm sights won't be disappointed as recently-arrived piglets, lambs and horses will be there.

There will also be an opportunity to comment on Community Links' vision for the site, the chance to become "friends of the farm" as well as opportunities to sign up for clubs, activities and courses starting over the next few months on the farm and at the nature reserve.

The Open Day runs from noon-4pm. Admission and activities are free. Refreshments will be available.
