Race thugs in brutal attack

RACIST thugs launched a brutal attack on two Asians on a bus in Forest Gate.

The pair, aged 24 and 23, boarded the number 25 in Stratford.

While walking through the bus, the movement of the vehicle caused them to knock into two men.

The thugs shouted racial abuse at the Asians.

A fight broke out, spilling on to the street near a bus stop in Romford Road, Forest Gate.

The louts punched and kicked both victims, breaking one man's nose and hitting the other on the head with an unknown item.

The attackers fled along Romford Road towards High Street North, Manor Park.

The victims were taken to Newham General Hospital and discharged after treatment.

Police are hunting two black men aged 20-30 years. One has short dreadlocks, and wore a dark coloured coat and woolly hat.

His accomplice has cropped hair and wore a red jacket and blue jeans.

Det Con Derek Downes said: "This incident was an unprovoked act of violence on a crowded bus.''

Police were called to the incident at just after 3.15am on February 21.

"I urge anyone who witnessed this attack, or has information that can assist the investigation, to contact us," said Mr Downes.
